Luke Campbell, 35, has explained that despite rumours of a comeback, he won't fight again due to wanting to focus on building a life outside of boxing and spending more time with his family. “Every time I had a fight, she came down ill afterward, 'cause of all the stress - she couldn't handle it. [She'd be] exhausted, and sick for a week or two afterward,” Campbell said. However, he admits that there have been days where he’s cried himself to sleep, saying, “I need to go back to boxing - it's the only thing I know, it's the only thing I'm good at”. Campbell won an Olympic gold medal before testing himself against the very best as a professional. While he loved the sport, he also acknowledges that being away from his family took its toll on him. “I'd rather miss boxing than miss my kids growing up. I still love the sport and have a passion for it, but I'm trying to create a life for myself outside of boxing, and that's the hardest bit,” Campbell explained.
