Pitt Football Kicks Off Spring with Exciting New Look

The Pitt Panthers kicked off their Spring drills on Tuesday with a lot of fresh faces ready to make their mark on the team. As Pitt football works to build on their successful nine-win season, themajor changes come in the form of departing starters, new additions, and a wealth of youthful talent.

Many eyes will be on quarterback Phil Jurkovec and Christian Veilleux who both carry high expectations firmly on their shoulders. Jurkovec has a final year of eligibility and has already made headlines as he opted to stay with Pitt after transferring twice previously. Veilleux comes with a four-star pedigree and will push Jurkovec for the role. Joe Dieffenbach is a freshman to watch with his high school career in basketball officially over and ready to fully focus on the gridiron.

The running game is also ushering in a wave of change with Israel Abanikanda and Vincent Davis
