Murdaugh Trial Continues as Defendant Alex Murdaugh Takes the Stand

The trial of Alex Murdaugh, the ginger-haired scion of a powerful legal family, continued yesterday, following the defendant's controversial decision to testify. Packed into the Walterboro courthouse, the crowd waited with bated breath as Murdaugh began to answer difficult questions asked by his own defense attorney, Jim Griffin.

Murdaugh denied having killed his wife and youngest son, staunchly declaring that "Mr. Griffin, I didn't shoot my wife or my son at any time, ever." However, his testimony directly contradicted statements he had made to law enforcement immediately after the June 2021 murders. When questioned about it, Murdaugh claimed he had been lying to protect himself.

Things became emotionally charged as Murdaugh described the harrowing moment he realized what had happened when he returned to Moselle from Almeda. Saying he had gone to the kennels but hadn't yet checked his wife
